Backup Problems

Just recently we changed computers in one of our college
offices. She had Windows 2000 Professional running and
now we have Windows XP. Using the "backup" program used
to take 20-30 minutes. Now it takes one hour plus! Any
ideas? Why is it taking so long and is there anything we
can do to speed it up?

Under Windows 2000 "backup" took about 30 minutes. Now
under Windows XP "backup" now takes about 1 to 1.5
hours. Is there a way to spead things up? Any ideas.

Backup problems

Hello

I am trying to backup my entire c drive as I have got it
installed to a level i want to be able to return to if all
goes wrong.

I am using Win XP pro Backup through accessories, system
tools etc.

I am trying to archive to my Sony dw-18a drive with a
floppy too as required by backup.

BUT, i never get very far, it hangs whilst interrogtaing
the DVD drive. Some occasions it rejects the dvd disc and
i have tried many versions and have burnt material using
it before.

On all occasions, it hangs for ages, hours. When i try and
terminate the program through ctrl-alt-del it shows two
versions of backup running but i only have opened one.

Can you help please? any ideas?

Phil

It's alright!

I just realised that XP does not backup to DVD or CD. That
seems like a bit of an oversight to me!

Thanks anyway
