Re: Bad Bluetooth by Microsoft

Simply posting a complaint without asking any questions doesn't really
achieve anything.
Not only that, but your 'complaint' is *not* strictly true.
Mobile phones generally will be recognised and can be used as dial-up
modems.
However, as I understand it the current MS Bluetooth drivers do not include
the networking ability that is required to complete the synchronisation for
PDAs and some mobile phone functions.
A little bit of research before any prospective purchase is always a good
idea. If you had done this, assuming you actually do have a MS Bluetooth
desktop, you would have found the site linked below
Guide to Bluetooth on Tom's Hardware site
http://www.tomshardware.com/consumer...328/index.html
Have a look, in particular, at the "Connecting other Bluetooth devices",
"Failures" and "Successes".
As well as successfully using a Sony Ericsson mobile phone as a dial-up
modem, they suggest that some PDAs may be able to synchronise and that the
network function is to be included in a future update of the MS Bluetooth
drivers.
Since the article was written in March 2003, hopefully the reported update
is close to release.
As I've already suggested, always research a product before buying.
