BAD_POOL_HEADER error using XP SP2

Posted: 09-07-2004, 05:43 AM
After installing XP Service Pack 2, Dell XPS system now
sometimes halts with blue screen error
message "BAD_POOL_HEADER". When system is rebooted,
system has "recovered from a serious error"; MS error
reporting server indicates problem is associated with a
device driver. How can I troubleshoot which
driver/interactions are triggering this error ?

The system worked fine prior to installing XP SP2
(running XP SP1). Error occurs when running Norton
System Works "one button checkup" and WinDoctor
utilities, so I suspect this application is calling some
driver. Devices attached to this PC are Ximeta NetDisk,
Buffalo AirStation wireless-g router, pre-installed DVD-
ROM and DVD-RW drives, and optical mouse. The Ximeta and
Buffalo are not "certified" by Microsoft, but seem to be
working fine. Symantec tech support has not reported any
errors associated with SP2 when running the applications.

Any suggestions ?

THANKS !!
