You can make 10 installations with Beta 2 but I don't know if they have to be
in the same location.

Incidentally, at my school in England, we use capital letters for proper
nouns and the beginning of sentences.

Hi Roly,

The public beta license is for installing on up to 10 test machines. It
should not be used in a production environment. That said, setting up a demo
machine is well within the stated boundries of your license. I would not,
however, install it on multiple machines on the school's network.

thanks to everyone who responded with sensible suggestions. i find that
teachers are very reluctant to embrace new technologies and i thought that
this would be a gentle introduction to vista.

this was always going to be a single, or maybe two, machine setup in the
staffroom. it was never ever going to be a mission critical machine. have you
seen a teacher's staffroom lately? not much mission critical stuff in there
at all.

thanks once again guys, you've been a great help. i will investigate the
early adopters option but i only came on here because i couldn't find the
right person at microsoft to email.

Dropping a beta OS on a group of people who are "very reluctant to embrace
new technologies" is a "gentle introduction"?

It is if it done in a non-threatening way such as a freely available demo
machine and a little publicity.

I can see people going "what's with all these scary warnings?" and being
even less interested with "any of that sh*t"...

If you wanna make a good first impression, don't use a beta.
