I decided today to reinstall Vista 64bit, as I thought i'd played with the
32bit one enough. I should stress at this point that I have never had any
problems installing the Vista Beta's, either the 64bit version or the 32bit
version. I am running Win XP Pro as a primary OS and have used dual-boot with
Vista before, but for some reason today, I have had no luck with the
reinstall.
I formatted the Vista drive (seperate from the XP install), booted from the
DVD and installed Vista as normal. Upon the reboot, i was shown the Vista
Boot Manager and when selecting Windows Vista, i was shown the Winload.exe
corrupt error. I put this down to a bad install, so i formatted and
reinstalled again, only to get the same error. I decided to try and sort the
problem with EasyBCD, and managed to change the Boot manager, but now
whenever i boot the system, It just goes straight to the Win XP Boot options,
with no Vista Boot Manager.
To sort this i tried to reinstall Vista again, but that didn't help. I then
tried to delete the Vista Bootloader with EasyBCD and then reinstall Vista,
but still have had nothing.
This is all bizarre as I have had no problems installing Vista until today,
and I have not changed my system config at all since i installed the previous
version of Vista which worked fine.
Any help would be much appreciated!
