(It's in red) and when I was trying to boot it up it said that there wasn't a boot program so I had to boot it from my disc. and now it starts but it now shows Degradable but bootable. the second hard drive still reads error. this happen 3 days ago after the new updates came out. the operating system (Vista) or software updates. I'm not sure where you're seeing "degradable but bootable" and if that in fact is the actual text of the error message. Download a diagnostic utility from the hard drive mftr.'s website. You will create a bootable CD with the file you download. Boot with the media you created and do a thorough test of the hard drive. If it fails any physical tests, replace it. Malke -- Elephant Boy Computers www.elephantboycomputers.com "Don't Panic!" MS-MVP Windows - Shell/User | Guest
