Anti-virus software generally needs to be updated for any new OS.
BitDefender make no mention of Vista anywhere on their site, therefore I
would expect that it will fail.

Avast and AVG are among those that do support Vista. Someone around here
was maintaining a blog/review page about AV support in Vista.
