For some annoying reason, the Blu-Ray disk drive in my stock HP dv9847c
Notebook (1 month old, so still within warranty) seems to have an od
habit of sporadically disappearing on me - it won't show up in explorer
nor device manager. It does, however, show up in BIOS. The problem
have is that the drive itself seems to have power/etc, and when it -is
showing, it works fine, and only ever seems to disappear when wakin
from standby. I never get any error messages, Scanning for hardwar
changes rarely if ever brings it back. I haven't installed any ne
software onto this system besides Daemon Tools Lite that should have an
effect at all on the drive, and as well when the drive disappears it'
drive letter is not used, as the drives number C, D, and F. This i
Vista SP1, and I think the drive was Mitsubishi, though I'm probabl
wrong. Lastly, it seems to at random come back without restarting/goin
back into standby.
Does anyone have any suggestions for what my problem may be, and how
might be able to fix it
