Bring out a RC1 technical refresh next month !!

Posted: 09-13-2006, 11:01 AM
I hope Microsoft will release a new downloadable RC1 with bugfixes and new
drivers so people who have trouble installing Vista now can try it again. I
think the bigest problem why people can't install it right now (like myself)
is that the drivers aren't compatible, still in beta or not available yet.

Unlikely to happen. I haven't seen anything on an RC2 proposal, and probably
only tech beta and TAP will see any further interim builds. Releasing a
public beta is a huge undertaking.

No way.

Beta2 and RC1 - that's it to everyday users.

Enough to see if your PC will run it I would say.

If it runs any of the both versions, even with some trouble or slowliness it
is more than likely that you can run the Final Version very well on your
PC - what needs one more ?

With RC1 you even can test the other versions , so you know exactly what you
get, when you buy.

Remember that it is timebombed, so there is no free testing forever.

You like it and it runs ok ? - Go and preorder at amazon or by Years end on
MS DirectSales.

It is a commercial product, no 24/7/365 trial to go on and on forever free.

Why are you shouting? There will be no more _public_ releases before RTM.
That does not apply to Tech Beta. As for yourself, you have said you are
not in Tech Beta any more so how do you know?

RC1 is all you will see before public availability of Vista. Other than
patches and updates what have is all you will have.
