browsers closing - exception breakpoint

For the past month, when I access some sites through AOL
or Netscape (ex - Pogo games, Towerrecords.com,various
other sites), the browser instantly shuts down and I
get: "a breakpoint has been reached. (0x80000003)
occurred in the application at 0x148392fe. click on ok to
terminate".

When I access these same sites through IE6, it also shuts
down and gives the message: "the instruction
at "0x018436bc" referenced memory at "0x018436bc" . the
memory could not be "read"."

I am using windows XP (SP1) and system restore has not
corrected this problem. Any ideas?
