BSOD after install . Cant get Vista to Boot with SATA drive attached for Storage

Posted: 03-20-2007, 07:30 AM

Hello All,

I have actually got Vista installed and it is up and running on my
machine, But my issue is I cannot get Vista to boot up when I connect
my SATA Drive to the system (Sata 300gb Seagate Drive)..

I get the Machine Exception erro with these codes
0x0000009c,(0x00000004,ox855b6f00,0xb2000000,0x000 70F0F)

I updated the driver during the install screen and got Vista to
reconize the drive. But it still will not boot, it simply just locks up
and reboots.

My setup is this
Gigabyte K8U-939
AMD Dual Core Opteron 165 1.81 ghz
2 gb of RAM
BFG 5200 AGP Video Card
Boot Drive 80gd Western Digital ATA 100 IDE Drive
Storage Drive 300 gb Seagate Sata Dr
One NEC 1000 DVD R/RW
One NEC 3500 DL DVDR/RW
Generic Floppy Disc Dr.

Please let me know if anyone has stumbled upon a cure for this as I
dont want to lose all of my files on the storage drive. I would like to
access them too!

Thanx in Advance
