Buffalo TeraStation Pro NAS

As we all now know Vista forces NTLMv2 authentication which means you
cannot access some NAS deviced unless you change the authentication
level.

For those that have a Buffalo TeraStation Pro you can download firmware
that gives you root access to your TeraStation via telnet. You can
download this from: http://tinyurl.com/2mccr9

Once you have this you can download Samba 3 with or without AD Support
from: 'Buffalo Extras'
(http://homepage.ntlworld.com/itimpi/buffalo.htm)

There are also instructions on the above website.

Once installed you can use SWAT via http://<terastation address>:901 to
turn on NTLMv2 Authentication

I also found that upgrading from Samba2 to 3 gave me roughly a 40%
performance boost

Just thought I'd share what I've found out
