Burning cd's

Posted: 07-24-2003, 05:35 PM
Hi there,
I am hoping someone can help me.When I go to copy music to
cd,then it goes to files waiting to be copied. All seems ok
at this point-it all converts, but when it goes to copy the
files on cd-it only does 5-6 songs.The cd-r I put in can
hold up to 80mins-I don't understand after recording only
6 songs(15mins),it says will not fit.
Is there some kind of setting to change this?

Any advice will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Kelly

What are you using as burning software ? XP ? Don't !

Turn off the XP burning serve - right click my computer > manage > services
and applications > services and then disable IMAPI burning COM Services.

Install decent software like Nero and use that. Nero can burn either wav
files or can convert mp3's "on the fly", ie as it burns.

Cheers,
Jerry

Okay, need some help here...
This is my first time burning w/ WMP on my WXP. The
total remaining time for my blank CD was 80 minutes and
the total time of the music files I was copying from my
library were 39 minutes. CD started burning great but it
hit the 7th track, just 19 minutes in and the status
read "Closing disk" and the remaining tracks read "Will
not fit". There was nothing else on my blank CD so why
did WMP encounter a problem. HELP!

You might want to use another program like Adaptec or
Roxio Cd creator software for burning the cd's.

But, you will probably need to check: copy to hard drive
first before recording, otherwise it'll just sit there.

I've got WMP and Nero Burning Rom 5.5 and neither will
burn CD's. I can play an audio cd, copy it but if I want
to burn a copy, it goes thru the process, writing etc and
then fails on the burn. One of the issues it mentions is
SCSI target error and could not perform end of Disc-at-
Once and burn process failed. I've kept the report if
anyone can understand it. I also tried to burn some photo
files to see if it was just music, but that failed too.
Olease help. Is it a software or hardware issue, or is
the cd rom machine itself damaged?

I can download music from my cassette player to the
computer using MusicMatch, then transfer library to My
Music, then it burns the CD,,,but the CD doesn't play
back after burning. Could it be burning in MP3 and not
standard CD format, how do I adjust my settings for this?
Or any other suggestions?
Thanks for your help.
Lynne

Make sure that you are burning an AUDIO CD and not a DATA CD. MusicMatch
will show you the time available on the empty CD (80 minutes) as opposed to
the space available (700MB.) MusicMatch will convert the mp3 files to cda
(audio CD) format on-the-fly during the burn.

Also be sure to "close disc" (or words to that effect) so that no more
material can be added to the CD; and use CD-R media, not CD-RW. These two
details are important if you want to play the CD in your home audio CD
player.

I haven't used MusicMatch to burn a CD in many months now so I can't tell
you precisely where to adjust those settings, but they are available options
prior to burning a CD.

Regards,
Ian.
