C drive Full D drive empty

Can someone please help
Iam getting an error message, that my C drive is full and
Iam not able to continue with my task, yet my D drive
with over 97 GB is empty.
1.- Does not my overflow Drive needs go from my C drive
to my slave D drive automatically?
2.- Is there a way to have my D drive automatically
accessed once my C drive is full
3.- How do I Copy my program files to the D drive with
out the need to reinstalling them

There is no 'overflow' of data onto a second hard drive,
but you can span your drives.

DISKMGMT.MSC command at the Run prompt to open the Disk
Management console

When the Disk Management console opens, locate the new
disks and right-click them. Be sure to right-click the
reference to the disk itself, not the space on the disk.
Select the Convert To Dynamic Disk command from the
context menu. When you do, a wizard will open, verifying
that you want to convert the disk into a dynamic disk.
Click Yes. When the conversion completes, repeat the
process for each disk in the spanned set.

To create the spanned set, right-click in the empty space
on one of your new disks and select the New Volume command
from the context menu. Windows will then launch the New
Volume wizard. When the wizard asks what type of volume
that you want to create, select Spanned. Then, follow the
instructions to complete the wizard. The process involves
simply selecting which disks should be included in the
spanned set. Your spanned set is now ready to use.

You can also Mount a volume onto an empty folder on your
existing C Drive. This may be easist for you, and does
not require you to change the disks to Dynamic. Simply
choose a volume (or partition) on the second drive (in
Disk Management) then right click > Change Drive Letter
and Paths > Add > choose Mount and browse to the folder
that you have designated on your C drive. The Disk (C
Drive) must be formatted with NTFS for this to work and
the folder that you are mounting to must be empty.

Hope this is all clear to you.

No computers do not automatically move overflow to a second drive.

Is your machine a Sony per-chance? I have never seen such a dumb
partitioning as Sony does, making a small C drive and a large D drive.
You can get programs that will change the drive partitioning to expand the C
drive and decrease the D drive, if they are in fact partitions on the same
physical drive.
If they are physically separate drives, you will need to move data and/or
re-install software again on the D drive.
