Can I downgrade Mandriva 2006's Xorg to the beta 2 version?

I've got a Compaq AMD64 box with an onboard SiS video controller.
Mandriva 2006 beta 2 installed fine on this box, and I don't remember
any problems with the video.

2006 final installed fine too, but the updated Xorg 6.9 seems a little
flaky on this box. I still have the beta 2 CD's, and am thinking of
downgrading Xorg, but am concerned that I'll screw things up even worse
(the system's mostly working now).

For example, can I just downgrade the X server and leave the libs,
etc., or will I need to figure out all the related rpms to install.

Any suggestions,

Try the "updated" Xorg rpms from www.seerofsouls.com. Might work for you.

I tried the seerofsouls rpms. They seemed to improve the stability
somewhat, but there were still drawing problems - and occasional
freezes.

Finally, I force-loaded the rpms from the beta 2 CD, and it's working
fine. Loaded x11, x11-server and libx11. It complained about the
newer font, etc. rpms needing the newer server, but it all works fine
after force-loading these 3 rpms.

somewhat, but there were still drawing problems - and occasional

What rpms did you use and where do i get them? I have nearly the same
problem. (see my earlier post subject == "fresh install 0f 2006 - mouse
problem" on 12/18/2005 11:55 pm)

Just a FYI:
I just now installed the cvs20051216 rpms from sos and it fixed all the
problems i had
