As long as your purchased copy of Windows XP is not
installed on any other computer, you can perform a
"clean install" without the need to install Windows
ME first.

| We got a new hard drive and installed Windows ME from the

| So the question is, can we reinstall XP from the CD onto

| Anyone have a clue? Thanks.

You should be able to reinstall it as long as it is the same PC. Also don't
install Me and then XP just install XP from the CD by itself.

Greetings --

Of course you can reinstall WinXP. Can't imagine why you'd have
thought otherwise.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:

Piracy Basics - Microsoft Product Activation
http://www.microsoft.com/piracy/basics/activation/

Windows Product Activation (WPA)
http://www.aumha.org/a/wpa.htm

(Also can't imagine why you couldn't find the Microsoft link,
yourself.)
