Hi there,
If this helps, I convert the WMV file to VCD or SVCD which works with
most DVD players by using NERO

Hi there I also have nero and have tried to use this to burn the disc but
could not find out how to do it. Each time I went to burn the disc, it told
me to place a dvd-r/rw or dvd+r/rw in the drive which I have been doing.

Hello, I too had the same problem with my copy of Nero (OEM) version . It
did have the the capability to burn DVD. I solved this by downloading the
trial version of Nero Reloaded. Excellent program so it looks like I will be
parting with my pennies. It is a big program and takes a long time to
download if you are on dial up. All the best,Sid.

Hello,

That method of selling a project makes the software bundle that comes with
your hardware look very good...but as you now know its actually
crippleware...its how both companies benefit without spending too much or
loosing too much in revenu. It is though an excelent way of advertising...I
have the full version and Love it....in truth, If Nero add just a few more
features it would be my prefered program over Movie Maker.

Nero have just released a free bundle of buttons menu templates etc for
Vision Express 3....pretty good stuff....and if that were not reason
enough...it does a better job of slide shows than Photo Story (all
versions) and correctly deals with 16:9 cropping and resampling of large
images.....no black borders.

Best Wishes.....John Kelly

These are the steps I use:

Directions to making playable DVD

1. Start Movie Maker
2. Finished Project
3. Goto File
4. Goto Save Movie File
a)- My Computer
- Name File Project
- Save to My Videos
- Other Settings
- Video for local playback(2.1 Mbps NTSC) works for me
- File now saved as WMV in My Videos folder
5. Close Movie Maker
6. Open Nero 6 Ultra Edition V6.3.0.2
7. Click on CD tab top right
8. Click on video icon
9. Click on Make Super Video CD
10. Find WMV on right side Drag to left side of screen
11. Click Burn Compilation icon on task bar
12. a) Video CD Tab
- Check simulation
- Check write
- Check Finilize CD
- Check Multiple Recorders if you have more than one burner installed
- Check # of copies
b) Menu Tab
- This step is only if you want a start up screen (otherwise movie
will play as entered in player)
- Check enable menu
- Check preview First Page
- This is the main menu if you want to have multiple videos on one
CD(press the # for video to be played on startup screen)
- You can alter colors, enter text, change fonts and also have a
picture on your startup screen (made by etc.)
c) Label Tab
- Choose name for CD
d) Burn Tab
- Check simulation
- Check write
- Check Finilize CD
- Check Multiple Recorders if you have more than one burner installed
- Check # of copies
13. Click on Burn (right side of frame)
14. Choose Recorder
Note: To record SVCD or VCD you only need a regular CD-R Burner (not
DVD burner)
Most DVD players now play these formats with regular CD-R disks
15. Click OK
16. Done
17. Enjoy!

John, I can only agree, you think you are getting a good deal but in the long
run they are just twisting your arm to squeeze a little more cash from you.
But at around £50 for Nero reloaded it is more than a liittle, ah well
Isuppose that is buisness. i took your tip and went straight along to my
local Aldi store to purchase that very nice offer on the drive. guess what
none available, just the luck of the draw. Best regards to you all. Sid.
