Can Not Connect to My Netgear Router

I had try serveral times to connect through my router to the internet, but I
am unable to connect to the router of it slef.

Type of Router: Netgear
Model: wgt624 verison 3

However if i disconnect the cable from my computer from the router to the
cable modem I am then able to connect to the internet. However I should be
able to connect to the internet from my router.
