Can not do peer-to-peer on XP professional

It sounds like everything I've seen on google searches and on this site indicates that there is a big problem with XP Pro doing peer2peer. Has anyone had this error and fixed it? I've tried everything. I still get, You might not have permission to use this network resource. Microsoft needs to do a better explanation than netbios over tcp/ip and restart the computer browser. That does not work.

I run several XP computers on my LAN & I have no problems. It seems to me that if you set things up right you shouldn't have any problems :P

Greetings --

I don't know what you've been reading, but networking Windows (any
variety)machines is usually fairly simple and straight-forward.

On the WinXP PC, create local user account(s), with password(s),
that have the desired access privileges to the desired shares. Log on
to the other PCs using those account(s), and you will be able to
access the designated shares, provided your network is configured
properly. Also, make sure that WinXP's built-in firewall
is disabled on the internal LAN connection.

Usually, WinXP's Networking Wizard makes it simple and painless --
almost entirely automatic, in fact. There's a lot of useful,
easy-to-follow information in WinXP's Help & Support files, and here:
