can not uninstall irivermanager & C&C Generals

hi,
i have a couple of programs which i can not uninstall
from
my system, from the add/ remove program list one of them
is CC Genreals and the guys at westwood cant seem to
help me.
when i uninstall try to uninstall C&C Generals, i get the
following error: ERROR-995 the I/O operation has been
aborted because of either a thread exit or an application
request, i have tried to uninstall it 3 times, @
different times once after a clean reboot.
the other program is some software for my mp3 player
irivermanager, i also recieve an error message, cant
remember it right now sorry.

any help would be appreciated.
