| If all you want to change is the username of the account, that's fairly easy. a) If this is a local account (NOT a domain account), do the following: Open Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management. Expand Local Users and Groups, click the Users folder. Click the user you want to rename, and from the Action menu, select Rename. You can also select properties on the user and change the Full Name and Description if you want. b) If this is a /domain/ account, you'll want to do the same thing, but replace all of the above with the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in on the domain controller (assuming a Windows 2000/2003 domain). Just find the user there and rename it. If you're trying to rename additional things, more information on what you want to rename is needed. Quote:
