Cannot access drive after Vista Scandisk fixed errors

I have 500GB drive I use to store files. I normally use it on an XP laptop.
I got a new Vista Home Premium Compaq Laptop. I would connect the drive and
transfer files. Every time I connect it, a pop up would say there are errors
Let Vista fix errors. I kept hitting cancel and continued using the drive. I
finally let Vista fix the drive errors and now the drive is not accessible to
Vista or XP. HELP !! PLEASE !!
