| I am trying to help a friend create a "restricted" user for his son to be able to play games with on a WinXP laptop used primarily for work/vpn. The administrator account, and the other two accounts that are viewable in the Control Panel > User Account are all associated with a domain of one name or another. The MS knowledgebase states that you cannot create a new user account since this tool is "not available on a computer that is a member of a domain." see: http://snurl.com/1sfv What steps do we need to take to be able to create a restricted account for his son? Again, there is no account that exists without an associated domain, so we cannot create a new user account. We also don't want to screw up an existing account/domain, since this laptop was set up by his company in India. He is consulting in the USA right now, so it's not very easy for us to contact the IT guys that configured this laptop. Please help! Regards, Peterson | Guest
