cannot install network printer

I have a HP photosmart 1000 that I wish to install as a network printer but
vista won't let me install it, I can use it in xp but not vista
...............any ideas?

According to the HP site for your printer there are not Vista drivers.

There aren't drivers for my Photosmart 8450 that's connected to the network
switch, but Vista managed to find it and install drivers whereas XP never
would on it's own.
