cannot print using canonbjc5100 on windows xp

i cannot use my printer on windows xp it is a canon bjc
5100 someone told me to download the driver for it using
windows 2000 but htis did not work then someone else told
me to set up my printer using a canonsetup but i do not
know how to do this. When trying to install my printer
windows xp does not have this canon on thier list. PLEASE
CAN ANYONE HELP thanx.joan
