I Have 2 networked computers at home (crossover cable). Windows XP and
98SE. I USED TO be able to power on the XP and walk to my 98SE and
remote desktop into XP. This was CONVINIENT for me. But now I have to
log on locally on the XP computer before I can remote desktop from
98SE.
I also USED TO be able to ping 192.168.0.1 (XP address) from my 98SE
when I powered on the XP. Now I get a 'destination unreachable' UNTIL
I log on locally to XP. After I log on locally to XP I then can do
ping and remote desktop.
All firewalls are turned off.
I suspect it could be a security update but would like to anyone can
help or have similar scenario. I would like my convieniance back !
