cannot save pics from smart card.

Hello,
For about two years, i inserted my smart card into a floppy disk
adapter.(The camera cannot download directly into the computer) Then I
inserted the floppy into the pc, clicked on each picture individually, it
opened. I clicked on "Save as" and saved on in the "my pictures folder".

Now, without any change in the settings, I cannot do that anymore. When I
follow the same procedure as before, I get an Icon in "My pictures" folder,
and when I click on it, i get a window, asking me what program to open the
file. Whatever I click on it doesn`t work, Picture it, fax viewer, internet
explorer etc.

But when , before opening the picture, I rightclick on it and open it in
"Paint", or
"picture it", then I can save it in " my pictures" folder.
Any ideas ??? Appreciated Phil(old newby)
