cannot send IM on 6.0.1

hey there,

i am in a spot of bother about the lastest version on mac messenger i
can sign in fine into it no problems, but whenever i try and send a
message to one of my contacts the application just times out and
crashes!

i know a handful of people have been experiencing the same problem and
i have searched high and low for a solution so i was wondering if
anyone could help me out because i have run out of ideas and am slowly
tired of having to use alternative messagers

It crashes?? You could try repairing the Permissions with DiskUtility
first.
If it still doesn't help, I would consider trashing all pref files
related to Messenger to start fresh. I have various problems with
Messenger, but it never crashes on my Mac. This looks like something
corrupted.
