Cannot shutdown Vista

Posted: 09-10-2006, 11:36 AM
I posted about this yesterday and then posted I had resolved it by removing
the synaptics touchpad driver. It didn't fix the problem after all.

Acer Aspire laptop 1Gb ram, 1.5 celeron M, 80Gb hdd, 128mb integrated
graphics.

Vista just will not shut down. It sits at the windows screen forever with
its spinning cursor icon. This is new to this build and never had a problem
with previous beta 2 or pre-rc1.

Event viewer does not offer much help only to say that it had an improper
shutdown (that would be me forcing it after it refused).
