Hi when i try to install vista after entering product key i get a screen were
the upgrade option is not available. it says that setup failed to run upgrade
compliance checks. It appears to go online but only for a second then
proceeds to entering product key. i have uninstalled mcafee and turned off
everything else running on boot up but still the same. please can you help?
upgrade advisor does not find any problems.

Are you trying to install x64 or x86? Are you trying to install on a
computer with SATA drives? A little system information would be most
helpful in the future.

Are you installing by booting from the DVD or from within XP? Upgrade
option should appear if you start the install from within XP.
