Default Canon printer drivers killed IE

I have recently installed the driver package (the whole thing) for my canon
pixma mp500 (a printer-scanner-copier combination). To my surprise, the
drivers worked without problems with vista, the twain driver works, wia
works, the scanner suit works, the printer driver works too.

But, the driver will install an IE toolbar too, "easy-web-print", that thing
slows IE 7 extremely down. After I have installed the driver, opening IE
takes 20 seconds. Openening a new tab takes 10 seconds.. you get the idea.

I tried to deactivate easy-web-print with the add-on manager, still the same
problem. I uninstalled easy-web-print (it can be separately uninstalled from
the driver package), and still, even now that it is uninstalled, IE is still
slow!

Here is the software, that made the trouble:

Look into it, ms guys.

Default RE: Canon printer drivers killed IE

Can you please tell me if the Mp500 drivers you installed were for Vista ??
If so can you tell me where you got the drivers from. I tried the XP64
drivers but they do not work on Vista.
