| Jeff the problem is that Zach's Vista base is out of date. With the newer build Microsoft is also diableing the built in administrator account as well. So until you go into compmgmt.msc and enable the account you will not be able to log on as the local administrator account. As for the activation i know for a long time the activation server were being hammered due to all the requests...so might be worth just retrying. josh http://windowsconnected.com "Jeff7506" <Jeff7506@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:100F2949-A731-4121-A6FC-B2F7FC2586AF@microsoft.com... | Boot into safe mode without networking Open the window - event viewer Navigate to "global logs \ application" Save file as ".xml". Use the following links to send the information to MS: For Feedback: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=55160 Feedback reporting tool: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=43655 Tips for how to file a problem report Here are some things to consider when filing a problem report: Please file your report as soon as possible after you find a problem. The sooner we hear from you, the sooner we can investigate and try to fix the problem. Please provide a brief, descriptive title. The title is the first thing we see when we get the report, so a succinct, clear title will help us effectively identify and prioritize the problem. Please provide enough detail in the description for us to understand the problem. The more detail you can provide, the better. Please provide the steps we can follow to reproduce the problem. Any incorrect or missing steps can prevent us from being able to reproduce and address the problem. If you have any supplemental files, screen shots, etc., that will help us investigate the problem, please attach those to your report. Seeing a picture can sometimes help us identify the problem more quickly. -- Andre Extended64 | http://www.extended64.com Blog | http://www.extended64.com/blogs/andre http://spaces.msn.com/members/adacosta "Jeff7506" <Jeff7506@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:69DEE822-704E-43B9-9DD0-2BDC10C28AF5@microsoft.com... | Ok so now i m able to login as "The" Administrator (Thanks josh) but i still have the same issue. I contact MSDN in france who say that Beta 2 cannot be activated as it's a trial version.... What will happen in 11 days when the activation grace will expire ? Any other clue ? "Gabriel Lozano-Mor?n" <gabriel@pointerx.net> wrote in message news:e81xCuchGHA.3900@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... | How is it out of date? I've managed to run the administrator using that article in Beta 2 :-s -- Zack Whittaker » ZackNET Enterprises: www.zacknet.co.uk » MSBlog on ResDev: www.msblog.org » Vista Knowledge Base: www.vistabase.co.uk » This mailing is provided "as is" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | MSDN France is smoking some illegal substances (figure of speech, of course). I am running an MSDN version of Vista Beta 2 and I only activated it 3-4 days after the original installation date. --> So, yes, the MSDN versions do require activation as well. As for getting it to properly activate: was it a clean install? was it on a clean partition? were there major hardware adjustments/changes between installation date/time and activation attempts? Submitting a bug report (following Andre's advice in this thread) would be the last option... or re-installing Vista Beta 2 again on a clean/reformatted partition. - naseru "Jeff" <Jean-francoism@avanade.com> wrote in message news:559C60BD-236E-4E17-8A98-4AFF3CBF22E9@microsoft.com... | If you look at the details you will notice a time discrepancy of exactly two hours between the creation of the event and the datetime in the schema. My guess is that this is the problem.
