Default Can't connect to internet with Internet Explorer

I just upgraded from Windows XP Pro to Vista Ultimate. When I run Internet
Explorer, or any other program that tries to connect to a www page, it fails.
When I click on the diagnose option on the resulting error page, I get this
message "www.msn.com is not set up to establish a connection on port "World
Wide Web service (HTTP) with this computer." I tried all of the repairs
listed on the resulting help page which is very basic. I also became familiar
with how Vista appears to handle networking and internet access. I compared
my ipconfig listing with ones I found in various help blogs or sites and it
appears it is connected ok. I get email ok, although I had to do a few minor
repairs. I can't find any mention of the error on Microsft or the listing
here. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Robert. Norton 360 was the culprit. I removed it and the Norton
update program and IE worked immediately. I am also finding some of the
programs I would normally use a lot have to be reinstalled to work properly.
