Can't get main volume to stay at desired setting.

Hi all,
I just recently installed Windows Vista Beta 2 x86. I'm having a problem
with the main speaker volume. I have a Creative SoundBlaster X-fi
ExtremeMusic sound card, if that is of importance. Every time I start Vista
the volume shows to be at 100 and basically blasts me out of the room. I
change the volume to 10 or so and restart and it's back at 100!??!?! Why is
this happening and what do I do to make it stay at what I set it to?

Thanks much!
Billy

I Got the same thing. its a nightmare. I also have a x-fi and the latest
drivers.
The upgrade didnt find the audio device. I plan to uninstall all software
and try again.

Do you get random volumes too? I mean I set it at 8-10 which is fine, but
certain sounds like .wavs are still blisteringly loud! Very odd
