Can't install .NET Framework version 1.1

Hello. I'm running Win XP Pro. I'm trying to install
the .NET Framework version 1.1 redistributable package and
am having problems doing it. It'll install to within 2
seconds of completion but then it fails every time. The
installation program then rolls back and gives me an
install failure message. Does anyone have an idea on why
it fails and/or how to get it to install completely? Any
help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
