| When I "Drag and Drop" video clips into the Movie Maker and then play those clips (AVI's), after about 5 clips (2 minutes), a window comes up and tells me there is a problem and that Movie Maker must shut down and then asks if I want to send an error report, which I do. This has been going on for weeks. What can I do to make a movie?? Please Help. -- George Jurak | Guest

Does it behave the same if you import the files by going to...File / Import into collections? | John, thank you for responding. The same thing happens when I import the clips via File / Import into collections. Slowing the speed doesn't help. I don't have the divxaf.ax file on my computer. However, I did find : claud.ax -- I changed it to claud1.ax clvsd.ax -- I changed it to clvsd1.ax ksproxy.ax and l3codecx.ax -- I did not change them, because they are trusted filters in 2.1 wtwmplug.ax -- Found 2 files -- I changed them to wtwmplug1.ax and wtwmplug2.ax After all of this, the same thing happens. Would it help to remove the Movie Maker and re-install?? I've been on this for weeks and I would really like to fix it. Is there a Microsoft Expert I can talk to in person? Or what do you recommend when nothing works?? Thank You Again, George -- George Jurak "John Inzer" wrote: Quote:

That nice new Compatibilty tab in Windows Movie Maker 2.1 http://blogs.msdn.com/deanro/archive...22/218501.aspx Long shot...but some users have reported problems after installing IE7. If this applies to your situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth a try. (927177) How to uninstall Internet Explorer 7 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927177/en-us ================================== Quote:
Movie Maker 2.1 is installed as a component of Win XP SP2...there is no way to simply uninstall Movie Maker and reinstall it. And... it probably wouldn't make much difference anyway. ================================== Quote:
I'm not sure if you could contact support for a Movie Maker issue but I do think the expense would be prohibitive. For E-mail and /or Phone Support... try the link below and maybe you can figure a way to discuss Movie Maker: MS Support http://tinyurl.com/5t8m5 Good luck... Also the following sites may be useful: Windows Movie Maker 2 - Photo Story 3 www.papajohn.org Microsoft Windows Movie Maker tips, tutorials, forums and more... http://www.windowsmoviemakers.net/ ================================== Quote:
Maybe you could try reinstaling SP2...and hopefully someone else will offer some advice. Download Windows XP SP2 http://tinyurl.com/6ubys Generally, users install from the net but this site allows you to download the complete file to your hard drive before installing. It's good for a network administrator because you can burn it on a CD and install it on as many computers as you need to. And it's good for a single machine because if you ever need to install it again...you'll have it available without waiting for a download. -- John Inzer MS Picture It! - Digital Image MVP Digital Image Highlights and FAQs http://tinyurl.com/aczzp Notice This is not tech support I am a volunteer Solutions that work for me may not work for you Proceed at your own risk | Guest
