Can't transfer photos from camera

Posted: 07-31-2004, 01:20 PM
I have Windows XP Home, and more than enough memory and
ram, as we edit videos. My digital camera is a Kodak
EasyShare DX 4530. Everything is connected, the transfer
program starts and it says "reading picture information",
then another box comes on and says "The computer cannot
detect the camera. Please make sure the device is turned
on and is properly connected to the computer".

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Can't transfer photos from camera
Posted: 07-31-2004, 01:50 PM
I forgot to mention that I have tried the XP photo
wizzard, Adobe Photoshop and Kodak EasyShare programs all
in trying to transfer from camera, and they all say I am
not connected. Is there something in my files somewhere
that I need to edit? Thanks!

Are you setting the camera to tranfer versus capture?

How do you set it? On the camera or in the software? The
software came with the camera and it says it should
automatically start getting photos when the camera is
plugged in.

I did the uninstall and re install of the software, and
still get the same message: first a box says "computer is
reading the pictures" then "the computer cannot detect
the camera, make sure it is plugged in"

Any further help is most welcome. Thanks, Sharon
