Can't use my shared WEP key to connect

Posted: 11-05-2006, 06:14 AM

I recently installed vista. I have a wireless PCI card installed. I can
connect to any unsecured wireless connection, but when i try to connect
to my own wireless network, it says the network key i used is invaild. I
was previously using XP and the key worked fine. They key also works
fine on my powerbook. It is a shared WEP key, 10 digit alphanumeric. I
saw a site about the steps you need to take to use a shared wep key in
vista, but when i try to enter the key a pop up says it is invalid and
i need to use 5 or 13 characters. Anyone had an idea of what is going
on?

likewise i did the same, i found that after installing Vista i had to reset
the router and then apply the same key and it worked. i could then join all
the computers to the network with the same key.
