capturing analog signals

Posted: 12-08-2003, 12:03 AM
I have an older camcorder(Panasonic PV-14D)that I am
trying to use to capture video recording on a Viao
Pentium 4 RZ44G computer through its analog inputs using
Windows Moviemaker. I have the camera on and inputs
properly connected, but when I go to "capture from video
device" no device is found. How can that be? What is it
looking for? Are there settings that need to be changed
or additional software needed? I know that the camera and
computer are working fine, because I can capture videos
by using the "record from TV" function through the Media
Center. That would be fine, but the format of the file
is incompatible with Moviemaker, so I cannot make any
edits to the video clip. However, I would prefer to
capture directly to the computer through Moviemaker. I
would appreciate any help with this problem.

Thank You
