I have a similar problem. I find that going into control
panel, System, Device Manager - Click on CD-ROM Drives,
then "Scan for hardware". This should make your drives
appear - but only until the next re-boot, when they
disappear.
I thought SP1 had solved the problem, but it recognised
my DVD rom drive as CD-ROM only, and caused system hang.
If anyone knows what drivers would have caused this,
please reply.
