I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. You don't need a CD burner in
order to download files from Kazaa. Your "My Shared Folder," to which your
downloaded songs go by default, used to be in the Kazaa install folder as I
recall, but newer versions put it in C:\My Shared Folder. Or you can access
those files through Kazaa by clicking on the "My Kazaa" button.

HTH,
Ian.

CD Burner

I have a Plextor CD-R PX-W1210A writer. My question is, does it make a
difference when you're burning cds as to what the cd-r speed is? Here's
what's been going on. I'm using Roxio 5 to burn my music cd's. I'm using
Memorex 700mb/48x multi speed cd-r's. I have no problem with using the
Memorex cd-r's in general. What's happening is when I burn the cd, it's
finalized and all done and I put it in my home stereo it shows the cd but,
won't play it. I can play the cd in my car stereo, my computer and in my
portable cd player with no problems. It just won't play on my main stereo.
It's not the stereo, I know that because I'm playing other burned cd-r's on
it right now and have been for a long time. It plays my Memorex Cool Colors
cd-r's just fine. I'm wondering does the speed of the cd writer and the type
of cd-r make a difference and why? Thanks.

Anna

yes the speed can matter. not of the disk but of how you burn it. try
burning the media that will not play right now at 4x speed.

You should never burn audio CDs faster than 24x, as some players can have
problems with the reflectivity of the disc at higher burn speeds. Also, try to
stick with the top brands of discs. Nothing but TDK for me.

Either you need to change the media type you're using, or defrag your HD, or
buy an other burner. How long have you had it ?

Cheers,
