cd-rom does not read or write

home edition and I went and downloaded THE Service Pack1
from the internet and now my Cd-Rom does not work . It
does not register that there is a disk in side but after
I put a disc in there is a continuous flashing light
from it as it should but it just does not registered that
there is a disk inside.
Could it be that the driver is not suitable with this
Servicepack that I have downloaded and if so do you know
where and which file I have to download to correct the
problem? Thank you.
