cd-rom does not read or write

I use ASUS M2400E notebook and it comes with Window XP
home edition and I went and downloaded THE Service Pack1
from the internet and now my Cd-Rom does not work . It
does not register that there is a disk in side but after
I put a disc in there is a continuous flashing light
from it as it should but it just does not registered that
there is a disk inside.

Could it be that the driver is not suitable with this
Servicepack that I have downloaded and if so do you know
where and which file I have to download to correct the
problem? Thank you.

cd-rom does not read or write

Just an echo. I just built a pc and installed XP
professional. Everything was working great until I
loaded Service Pack1. My CD drive is actually a Pioneer
DVR-106D (cd/dvd burner). Once I loaded SP1, I started
having problems with my cd/dvd drive. After more
investigation, I found that a music cd is OK, a
production dvd is OK, but anything with data or mix
simply locks up the pc. Sounds like MS has dinked the cd
driver somehow with SP1.
