CD ROM drivers + audio

My computer recently gave me the error message that my
drivers for both my burner and dvd rom drive are
corrupt(code 39). My sounds card is out as well and I am
assuming for the same reason. Also, plug and play does
not work, giving me the same error as them all. I tried
to follow the instructions on the microsoft website and
now the corrupt drivers are no longer there and the
device still does not work. I also tried a patch that is
supposed to edit the registry yet it did not work. I
ahve no idea what is going on with the devices. I cannot
install the drivers for the sounds card because the rom
drives are not functioning. Is there anyway that I can
get the drivers without reinstalling XP?
