cd-rom issues after hardware change

Posted: 06-11-2004, 10:07 PM
When changing cases I decided to put both dard drives on
one ide channel and both cd drives on the sedond ide
channel. (original setup was primary master hdd0 primary
slave cdrw)(secondary master hdd1 secondary slave dvd
player) all drive switches are setup properly. When xp
booted up the first time (error: major hardware change)
and windows continued to boot. I have not been able to
access the cd or dvd drives after this change. After this
issue started I returned all drives to their original
configuration and still have the same issue. I even
removed the second hdd just to see if the issue would
resolve but to no avail. Does anyone have any idea on how
to fix this problem?
