cd rw and dvd not found

My cd rw and my dvd reader are not being recognized by
windows any more. The message says that the driver has
become corrupt. I went to the cabs directory and tried
to reload the driver and still nothing. I tried to
download a new driver from the web with no success. My
dvd reader is-MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR-8588, and my cd-rw is-
LITE-ON LTR-40125S. Can anyone out there help me resolve
this problem?
