Default CD-RW problem after XP upgrade

After upgrading my Compaq Presario 5900T from Win98 to XP
home edition, I cannot play a DVD(using Mediamatics/
DVDExpress)in DVD/CD player. I cannot read the files on
an existing rewritable CD in my CD writer.
I get "C2UDFFS.ISO" as the disk label. Also I can't read
a rewritable CD in my DVD/CD player-Same problem. When I
open the readme file that appears when I try to open the
disk, it says "This disc uses the UDF file system. You
are currently looking at the ISO part of this disc. To
read the content of this disc you have to install an UDF
file system reader."
The drives are there and recognized, and I can play a CD
in DVD/CD player with Windows Media Player. When I try to
use CdQuadrat-Just Data to burn a disk, it says "SCSI
error: no SCSI host adapter found" - Then "no CD recorder
found".
Am using CeQuadrat for burning CDs,& Mediamatics/
DVDExpress for DVD playing.
It all worked b4 Winxp upgrade.
Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks, John M.

Default Re: CD-RW problem after XP upgrade

What application were you using on Win98 to burn your CDs? It sounds like
you'll need the XP-compatible version of that app to read the CDs you
created.

CD-burning apps install drivers to support their burning functionality, so
if you had such an app on Win98 then upgraded, the driver isn't loaded any
more. That would explain why your CDQuadrat app is giving you an error.
