CD/RW Problems

I have an LG CD/RW, I tried them, and their help didn't
work. Recently my burner "died" out. My computer
recognizes my burner as only an optical drive and doesn't
recognize it as an LG. It says it is an NG then a few
symbols. I've already uninstalled/reinstalled,
physically removed both cd drives, nothing works.
Help...please.

I had similar problems and replaced the ribbon and everything worked find.
Not saying this is your problem but you might try a new ribbon because
sometimes the wires can get broken when being moved about.

Maybe i'll give that a try, but i can't imagine it broke
or anything like that. My computer hasn't moved in about
a year.

Hi
I just had a problem I could not solve on my own.
I asked for support from Microsoft and within less then 24 hours they e-mailed a procedure whic
solved my problem (XP was not recognizing my cd writer)
To get the support go to START>CONTROL PANEL>HELP AND SUPPORT CENTRE
GET SUPPORT>GET HELP FROM MICROSOF
You will have to get .net passport to get this help. Prompts will direct you
