Hi OneEye,

This kind of issue often occurs if the hardware is not fully compatible
with Windows XP or it has some hardware compatibility problems. For
example, this issue may occur if the device is using UDMA mode not
supported by the mainboard or Windows XP. It is difficult to determine the
cause from the information you provided. Detailed information on this event
is required for further investigation. I suggest you read the following
article discussing this issue:

244780 Information About Event ID 51
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=244780

It may help you mainly understand why this issue occurs. As the old driver
works fine on Windows XP, I suggest you check with the manufacturer to see
if there is any compatibility issue. Please feel free to let me know if you
need any further assistance on this issue.

I look forward to hearing from you.
