CDRW shows as working, Disks don't read

hardware and load drivers. CDRW (Cendyne16*12*40) shows
as working correctly in Device manager with driver.
Shows up in Win Explorer, too. When I put CD-Rom in
tray, it just keeps tryin to read but never does. I've
Tried store bought program CDs and home copied (closed)
CD's same result. Tried Autorun wizard and no help (see
log below). Audio CDs will play fine. Downloaded all
critical updates and optional ones that looked
appropriate right after loading XP. The drive worked fine
in same machine using win 98 before I formated and
loaded. Used that Drive to run XP cd install. I am the
only user and I am the "computer administrator". The
properties of the drive has record tab so it sees it as
recorder.
