Changing Media File Locations

Posted: 05-27-2004, 01:11 AM
My C: drive is maxed out but I have a huge empty D: drive now. I would like to transfer my media files to the D: drive without losing my artist and album information. Attempts so far have resulted in lost data and an inability to update existing media with web database info. It would be nice to be able to move the player as well but I see that MS indicates that is not possible. I'm sure this isn't the first time this has come up but I didn't find anything on this in the MS FAQs for media player 9.0 Any help is most appreciated - Thanks.

Delete all files in your library.
Move all files to the new drive.
Import them into your media player.
If they are properly tagged, then you shouldn't have any problems.
